Kit List

Luggage and Kit

Your child should have two pieces of luggage:
  • ·         A soft, rugged holdall (about 90L or more) to hold all clothes and equipment to go in the hold of the plane. Large rucksacks can be brought, but the straps normally mean that they have to go into ‘Oversize Luggage’ and this takes time.
  • ·         A small day rucksack  (20-30L) to hold lunchbox and a waterproof for travelling and also for carrying lunch, a water bottle, a warm layer and waterproofs every day at the centre.

Please do not pack any liquids (including toothpaste) in your child’s hand luggage: it will be confiscated by airport security.

Kit List
The following kit is recommended for our trip by Ridgeway Adventure.

·         2 large strong bin liners for lining rucksack

Hire of kit from Ridgway Adventure
·         Items marked ‘*’ can be hired from Ridgway Adventure. Please contact NLM if you wish to find out more about hiring equipment.

Please do NOT Bring …
  • ·         Please do not bring knives, aerosol cans, chewing gum, expensive watches, jewelry or other precious items.
  • ·         No mobile phones or electronics.
  • ·         There is no need to bring a camera as the staff will take a lot of pictures (over 1,000 last year) and the children can concentrate on the activities.
  • ·         Please do not pack a huge quantity of fizzy drinks, sweets and crisps: the food at the centre is excellent (ask children who have been on the trip previously)
  • ·         Please be sure to take all kit home at the end of the trip – repatriating kit is awkward as Ridgeway are not close to a post office.   £25 + postage will be charged by Ridgeway if required.
